The Goth Cowfolk theme is back! Cause Horseshoe Lake duh!

This venue is absolutely idyllic. Canopied walking paths, a little island for photo ops, a gazebo. It's like we're all getting married there. But we're not, we're being cowfolk! Bring your 10-gallon hat, fill it with melancholy, and be the best goth cowperson you can be.

Accessibility

This is a generally flat park--most of the faire is on grass and parking is in marked spaces on asphalt. Handicap parking is available close to the front gate.

Parking

No parking fee!

Of course, if you have an opportunity to carpool or get dropped off, that's still extremely super cool of you and allows for more attendee parking! :)

Special Event Faire Packages

If you are celebrating anything (birthday, anniversary, recent unemployment, high bowling score, etc.) or just want to be treated like a VIP, reach out to kryssy @ lunarfaire.com to create a custom individual or group experience.

Day-of Tickets

Will be available at the gate for $20.

What to Bring
  • A flashlight! Some parts of the faire are dark!
  • Everyone you know!
  • Comfy shoes - there's a lot to see!
  • Your weird and/or witchy and/or light up garb! Or you can buy some at our merch booth!
  • Chair/blanket to rest your bones
  • A drum to drum on at the drum circle
  • A book for the magickal book exchange
  • Shopping bag, reusable cup, other waste reduction items
Rain Date

This is an all weather event . The only reason we would cancel is if the weather is extremely severe or like the parking fields are snow covered but our blizzard wizard is on retainer to prevent this.

Refunds

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued or transfers honored for other events unless we cancel or reschedule.

No Furry Friends Please

Pets other than service animals are prohibited. You may have seen people bring pets. Those people might not have seen the FAQs on the website or this part of the ticket, or the posts about it, or may be ignoring all of these. But please, out of respect for the venue, and, more importantly, non-pet people, and our insurance policy, please leave your furry friends at home. You will be turned away if you have a non-service animal pet with you.

Children

Should I bring them?

Depends how feral they are. If they are at least mildly civilized they’ll be thoroughly entertained and will remain undevoured.

Are they free?

So you decided to take the plunge and make a new generation of cool kids. Nice. 10 and under are free.

Do a lot of kids go?

A lot.

I've heard this is wholesome. But is it?

As you can see from the above questions, people proudly bring their children. Without getting into a philosophical argument about subjectivity and moral outrage, this is generally a wholesome and safe event. People are friendly, loving, inclusive, and peaceful. But it isn't sanitized. The map might say "Long-Ass Road" and our schedule includes active and participatory spellwork and we do not censor adult vendor products (though most are not overt). We occasionally sell a drink that looks like blood in a bag. But it's non-alcoholic, as are all our potions. And while there is absolutely nothing inherently dangerous to encounter, we're likely always going to walk a line of "propriety." And maybe, as a result, pioneer a whole new unapologetic version of wholesome. It is up to you and your parenting style to decide what you personally find objectionable and what is best for your own children. Our children attend.
